Archived: NSO Sound Health Friday #1 - Oct. 6

9:00-11:00 a.m.

Sound Health Fridays are City Choir's exciting new collaboration with the National Symphony Orchestra and are optional, but we highly recommend that you participate. Not only is it great fun and inspiring for singers and audience alike, but it is important to show our best in our new relationship with the NSO.

Four times a year, before an NSO Friday matinee, City Choir participants will perform a short set (~3 songs) for an audience of NSO patrons at The REACH (pictured above). Then, Erin and Katie will lead both singers and audience in a warmup and sing along inspired by the NSO concert's theme.

A quick warmup and rehearsal for TCCW singers will start at 9 am; we will break for coffee and pastries with the audience members and begin the program/sing along at 10 am. Music for the sing along will be printed in programs, and also made available to the singers beforehand.

The October 6 NSO concert (read about it here) will feature music by Ottorino Respighi, as Music Director Gianandrea Noseda takes listeners on a tour of Italy--and a celebration of Maestro Noseda's birthday. Singers may stay for the concert afterwards: each singer can receive a complimentary ticket from the NSO!

Parking passes for free parking at the Kennedy Center will be made available to singers.
