Greetings, Singers!

The City Singers is City Choir's engagement ensemble, directed by Assistant Conductor Katie Jagielski and managed by S1 Lani Kanakry. The City Singers perform spirituals, standards from the Great American Songbook, Broadway tunes, and more throughout the greater Washington, DC region at retirement communities, homeless shelters, and military retirement homes--not to mention a favorite venue: the Willard Hotel at Christmas time. Please join us--all TCCW singers and alumni are welcome! City Singers borrow and return the music scores we use (you don’t need to purchase any additional music), so we do need to know who is planning to join the group in advance so we can have enough copies of the music available.

The City Singers rehearses in several intensive sessions twice a year (in October/November and January) to prepare a holiday program and a regular season program. The group performs the holiday program a number of times in December, and the regular program approximately once a month from February through June.

Rehearsals are held at Holy Transfiguration Church in McLean, Virginia. *The church is not on metro (although it is a short drive from Spring Hill on the Silver Line, and we can arrange pickups from there), but rides/carpools can almost always be arranged (you can find the carpool blog HERE and on the Singers page). You aren't required to attend every rehearsal or performance, but please try to come to as many as you can.
